THIRTY-FIVE SEATS, NOT ONE CHANNEL
Most decorated bands cheat somewhere. A row of small stones gets dropped into a shared channel, or a strip of metal is pushed over several girdles at once, because cutting an individual seat for every stone is slow and the difference is hard to see from a distance.
The Alina does not cheat. Seven round brilliants, 4.00 mm and 0.30 carats each, sit at 2.10 carats along the band. Around each one, four marquise-cut diamonds at 5.00 × 2.50 mm open outward like petals — twenty-eight in all, 2.86 carats. Every one of the thirty-five stones is given its own collar.
THE SETTING
A marquise has two points, and on this design they converge: four stones meet around a single round centre, which means four tips arrive at the same small area of metal from four directions. Each has to be seated at the same height and the same angle, or the petal reads as crooked. There is no channel wall to disguise an imprecise seat, and no prong to fold over a gap.
The band carries this at 8.92 mm across — wide enough that the pattern reads as a continuous field rather than a row.
