The “Amber” Eternity Ring

Sale price$8,567.25 USD

SIXTEEN STONES, AND NOWHERE TO HIDE

Matching pear cuts gets harder as they get larger, not easier. Small pears can be selected from a deep pool of rough; at 6.00 × 4.00 mm and 0.40 carats each the pool narrows sharply, and every stone carries enough presence that its individual character is visible on the hand.

The Amber uses sixteen of them, 6.40 carats in total, running the full circumference. At this scale a single stone cut a shade shallow, or a shoulder a fraction fuller than its neighbour, is not absorbed by the pattern — it is simply seen.

THE SETTING

Each diamond is seated in its own collet, a metal collar cut to that stone's outline rather than a shared channel. On a pear the collar has to follow a curve that tightens to a point, and the point is where the stone is most fragile. A seat cut a fraction wide leaves the tip standing proud; a seat cut tight puts the stone under load.

Because each collet is independent, the girdle stays open and light enters from the side as well as from above.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Diamonds — 16 pear cut, 6.00 × 4.00 mm, 0.40 ct each. 6.40 ct total.

  • Certification — every diamond of 0.20 ct and above ships with its certificate: GIA for natural, IGI for lab-grown.

  • Setting — Collet, one per stone.

  • Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 3.63 g at 14K, 4.27 g at 18K.

  • Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.

Made to order. Two to three weeks from order to dispatch.

Because the diamonds encircle the entire band, an eternity ring cannot be resized once it has been produced. Please size carefully before ordering.
