TWENTY-NINE HEARTS, EACH ONE HALOED
A halo is straightforward around a round stone: a ring of small diamonds at a constant distance from a circle. Around a heart it is one of the hardest things a setter is asked to do.
A heart has a point at the bottom, two lobes at the top and a cleft between them. A halo following that outline has to turn a sharp exterior angle at the tip, run two convex curves up the sides, and then reverse direction into a concave notch at the top — all while the small stones stay evenly spaced and level. There is a reason most haloed hearts on the market simply round off the cleft and hope nobody looks.
The Lacy does it twenty-nine times. Each link is a heart at 3.60 mm ringed by twelve round brilliants at 1.20 mm, on a link 6.30 mm across and 4.30 mm deep. Three hundred and seventy-seven diamonds across the bracelet, 7.63 carats.
THE STRUCTURE
Twenty-nine complete haloed settings, hinged into a line that has to lie flat against a curved wrist and flex all day without a single one of the small stones shifting in its seat.
Every heart also has to face the same way and sit at the same angle. On a row of circles a small rotation is invisible. On a row of hearts it is the first thing anyone sees.

Diamonds — 29 heart cut at 3.60 mm, 0.167 ct each (4.843 ct); 348 round brilliant at 1.20 mm, 0.008 ct each (2.784 ct). 377 stones, 7.63 ct total.
Certification — these are melee diamonds and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.
Setting — Haloed link, twenty-nine hinged units.

Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 19.72 g at 14K, 23.20 g at 18K.
