A CIRCLE INSIDE A SQUARE
The centre of the Cindy is round. The frame around it is not. An inner halo follows the stone, circular and evenly spaced. The outer halo is squared into a cushion outline, which means it is further from the centre at its corners than along its flats.
Those two geometries have to be reconciled in the space of a few millimetres. Set the outer row at a constant spacing and the corners crowd; set it to the corners and the flats open up. The stones have to be graduated around the frame so the density of light stays even while the distance to the centre changes — and the eye notices the failure long before it can explain it.
THE SETTING
Eighty-four small diamonds do that work, in two sizes: forty-eight at 1.70 mm on the outer frame where the run is longest, thirty-six at 1.40 mm on the inner ring. Both rows are U-cut, the metal beneath hollowed into a continuous curve so light reaches them from below.
The two centres are 7.00 mm round brilliants at 1.25 carats each, held in four claws and raised clear of both halos so they are not walled in by the frame built around them.

Certification — every diamond of 0.20 ct and above ships with its certificate: GIA for natural, IGI for lab-grown.
Setting — Four-claw centres, U-cut channel across both halos.

Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 5.10 g at 14K, 6.00 g at 18K.
