THE CUT WITH A CLEFT IN IT
A heart is the only common diamond shape that asks the cutter to produce a concave feature. Every other outline is convex — a curve or a corner pushing outward. A heart has a notch cut into the top of it, and that notch has to sit exactly on the centreline with two lobes of matching height and matching roundness on either side. A heart a degree out of true does not look like a slightly imperfect heart. It looks lopsided.
The Denise runs twenty of them, 3.50 × 3.50 mm, 3.04 carats in total, around the full circumference. All twenty have to be matched to each other and then set facing the same way, because a single stone rotated even slightly breaks a shape the eye already knows the correct form of.
THE SETTING
Each heart sits in its own collet, a collar cut to follow that specific outline — around two lobes, into the cleft, and down to the point. It is the most complicated collar shape in this collection, and it has to be cut twenty times without the depth varying, or the row will sit unevenly.
The point is the vulnerable end, as it is on a pear, and the cleft is the second weak spot. Both are covered by the collar.

Certification — these are melee diamonds and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.
Setting — Collet, one per stone.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 3.02 g at 14K, 3.55 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.

Because the diamonds encircle the entire band, an eternity ring cannot be resized once it has been produced. Please size carefully before ordering.
