A marquise is pointed at both ends. The Elane carries fifty-six of them, which means one hundred and twelve points — and a bracelet is the worst place on the body to put a point.
A ring sits still on a finger. A bracelet slides against cuffs, sleeves, bag straps and desk edges all day, and the tip of a marquise is the thinnest part of the stone. Left proud, those tips chip; catch one on knitwear and it pulls a thread.
Which is why every stone here sits in an individual collet, a collar cut to that outline — around the belly of the stone, tapering in, and closing over each point from both faces. The collar is what makes a bracelet of marquise cuts a practical object rather than a fragile one.
THE LINE
Fifty-six marquise at 5.00 × 2.50 mm, 0.102 carats each, 5.71 carats in total, laid end to end along seven inches. Set lengthwise, point meeting point, they read as a continuous chevron rather than as separate stones — the bracelet has a direction, and it runs.
11.52 grams of gold in 14K. Marquise cuts spread: they cover more length per carat than any other shape, which is how fifty-six stones reach seven inches on 5.71 carats.
