THIRTY-NINE THOUSANDTHS OF A CARAT
The diamonds on the Harmony weigh 0.239 carats each. The line at which a stone stops being melee and starts being certified individually is 0.20.
That margin — thirty-nine thousandths of a carat, a difference invisible to anyone holding the bracelet — is the difference between a piece that arrives with no paperwork and one that arrives with twenty-seven separate diamond certificates, one for every stone on it.
Choosing a 3.80 mm stone rather than a 3.60 mm one is a small decision at the design stage. It changes what the customer actually receives.
THE SETTING
Twenty-seven round brilliants, 6.46 carats in total, each in its own collet — a collar cut to the individual stone rather than a shared channel, leaving the girdle open so light can enter from the side.
Fewer, larger stones than a fine line bracelet, spaced along 12.48 grams of gold in 14K. The gaps are part of the design: at this stone size the metal between them reads as deliberate rhythm rather than as filler.
