THE DIAMOND IS THE FULL WIDTH OF THE BAND
Most eternity rings run their stones along the finger, in a line, with metal on either side holding them in. The Janae turns every oval ninety degrees and lays it across the band instead. Each stone measures 4.00 mm end to end on a band that finishes 5.07 mm wide, so the diamond spans almost the entire profile and the gold is left with about half a millimetre either side of it.
That is why the ring weighs 1.36 grams at 14K. There is no shank beneath the stones in the usual sense — the collets are the structure, twenty-two of them linked rim to rim, and the metal that remains is doing nothing but holding on at the edges.
Laying an oval that way also puts its two narrow ends on the outer rims of the ring. Those ends are the thinnest part of the stone, and the rim is the part that meets a desk, a door handle and the ring on the next finger. Each one is closed inside its own collet rather than left under an open prong, which is what makes it possible to run a diamond to the edge of a band and still expect it to be worn every day.
THE SETTING
Twenty-two ovals at 4.00 × 2.50 mm, each in a collar cut to its own outline. An oval has no straight edge and no corner to register a seat against, so there is nothing to measure the collar from except the curve itself — and on a full eternity every one of the twenty-two has to match the last, because the ring returns to where it started and any drift closes the circle visibly.

Certification — these are melee diamonds and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.

Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 1.36 g at 14K, 1.60 g at 18K.
