A STONE THAT POINTS, AND A STONE THAT DOES NOT
A pear has a direction. Set a row of them and the band becomes an arrow — the eye runs along it, from wide end to tip, over and over.
The Justine interrupts that deliberately. Between every pear sits a small round brilliant, which has no orientation at all, and the effect is to reset the eye twelve times around the circumference. The band stops reading as a single continuous run and starts reading as a rhythm: point, pause, point, pause.
It is the opposite decision to a band of pears set nose to tail, and it produces a ring that is calmer on the hand despite carrying the more dramatic shape.
THE SETTING
Twelve pear cuts at 4.00 × 3.00 mm and twelve round brilliants at 2.00 mm, twenty-four stones and 2.22 carats, all collet-set — each in a collar cut to its own outline, with the metal closing over every pear's point.
The rounds are a quarter the weight of the pears, and that disparity is the point. They are not there to be counted. They are there so the pears can be.
SPECIFICATIONS
Diamonds — 12 pear cut at 4.00 × 3.00 mm, 0.15 ct each (1.80 ct); 12 round brilliant at 2.00 mm, 0.035 ct each (0.42 ct). 24 stones, 2.22 ct total.
Certification — these are melee diamonds and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.
Setting — Collet, one per stone.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 2.50 g at 14K, 2.94 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.

Because the diamonds encircle the entire band, an eternity ring cannot be resized once it has been produced. Please size carefully before ordering.
