A BAND OF GLASS
The table of an emerald cut — the flat face on top — takes up around two thirds of the stone's width. No other cut gives over so much of itself to a single unbroken plane; a round brilliant's table is a small facet in the middle of fifty-six others.
Set twenty of them around a finger and the effect is unlike any other eternity ring. The band presents an almost continuous flat surface, interrupted only by the thin steps at each stone's edge. It does not sparkle so much as reflect — closer to a ribbon of glass laid around the hand than to a row of gems.
Twenty emerald cuts at 4.50 × 3.50 mm, 0.30 carats each, 6.00 carats in total.
THE SETTING
Each stone sits in its own collet, a collar cut to the rectangle with its corners taken off. Because the table is so large and so flat, the alignment tolerance is unusually tight: on a brilliant a stone rotated a degree disappears into the scatter, but on a row of step cuts the long parallel edges make any rotation read immediately.
Twenty stones, twenty collars, and one flat plane that has to run true the whole way round.
SPECIFICATIONS
Diamonds — 20 emerald cut, 4.50 × 3.50 mm, 0.30 ct each. 6.00 ct total.
Certification — every diamond of 0.20 ct and above ships with its certificate: GIA for natural, IGI for lab-grown.
Setting — Collet, one per stone.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 3.12 g at 14K, 3.67 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.

Because the diamonds encircle the entire band, an eternity ring cannot be resized once it has been produced. Please size carefully before ordering.
