On most jewellery the gallery — the structure between the stone and the skin — is a piece of engineering hidden behind the thing it holds. It carries the load, and it is designed not to be looked at.
The Natalie turns it outward. The frame beneath each centre is a squared box with its sides cut into open windows, so the structure is visible from every angle except straight on. What would ordinarily be concealed becomes the profile of the piece.
That is a harder object to finish. A hidden gallery only has to be strong; a visible one has to be strong and clean, with every internal edge filed and polished, because there is no angle from which a rough joint stays out of sight.
THE SETTING
The two centres are 7.00 mm round brilliants at 1.25 carats each, held in claws and set high on the box. Around each runs a halo of small diamonds following a squared outline rather than a circle — forty-eight in all at 1.30 mm — so the frame reads as a geometric border rather than a ring.
Because the halo is square and the stone is round, the gap between them changes as it travels. The pavé has to be spaced so that the light stays even while the distance does not.
