ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO STONES, IN THREE SIZES
The Pamela carries more diamonds than any other ring in this collection, and the interesting number is not the total. It is the ratio.
Eighteen stones at 1.70 mm, thirty-six at 1.20 mm, one hundred and eight at 1.00 mm — one to two to six. That is not a coincidence of supply; it is eighteen identical clusters, each built from one larger stone with two mid-sized and six small ones ringed around it.
The graduation is what makes the trick work. Stones stepping down in size toward the edge of each cluster read to the eye as a single dome of light rather than as nine separate diamonds, the same way a scalloped halo makes a centre stone look larger than it is. Cut all one hundred and sixty-two to the same size and the ring would read as texture. Graded, it reads as eighteen glowing points.
THE SETTING
The 1.70 mm stones are collet-set, each in its own collar. The one hundred and forty-four smaller ones are prong-set, with the prongs raised out of the band's own surface and worked under magnification.
At 1.00 mm, the smallest stones on this ring are near the practical limit of what can be set by hand at all — smaller than a grain of coarse salt, and there are one hundred and eight of them.
SPECIFICATIONS
Diamonds — 18 round at 1.70 mm (0.36 ct); 36 round at 1.20 mm (0.29 ct); 108 round at 1.00 mm (0.54 ct). 162 stones, 1.19 ct total.
Certification — these are melee diamonds and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.
Setting — Collet on the largest stones, raised prong throughout the pavé.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 3.91 g at 14K, 4.60 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.

Because the diamonds encircle the entire band, an eternity ring cannot be resized once it has been produced. Please size carefully before ordering.
