THE SAME STONE, TWICE, AT TWO DISTANCES
An oval is defined by its ratio — how much longer it is than it is wide. Change the ratio and you change the stone: shorter reads as a fat egg, longer as a stretched marquise without points. It is the number cutters and buyers argue about most.
The two sizes on the Patrice are 4.70 × 3.20 mm and 5.70 × 3.90 mm. Work them out and they are 1.47 to one and 1.46 to one — the same oval, scaled.
That is why the bracelet does not look like it is made from two kinds of stone. Graduating by size while holding the ratio fixed means the eye reads a single shape at two distances rather than two different shapes, and the line stays coherent as it tapers.
THE SETTING
Eleven of the larger ovals and twenty of the smaller, thirty-one stones and 7.47 carats, each in its own collet cut to follow the curve. An oval has no straight edge and no corner to register against, so the collar has to be true all the way round — there is no flat to hide a discrepancy behind.

Diamonds — 11 oval at 5.70 × 3.90 mm, 0.337 ct each (3.71 ct); 20 oval at 4.70 × 3.20 mm, 0.188 ct each (3.76 ct). 31 stones, 7.47 ct total.
Certification — every diamond of 0.20 ct and above ships with its certificate: GIA for natural, IGI for lab-grown. The eleven larger ovals qualify; the twenty smaller are melee and are not individually certified, which is standard practice at this size.
Setting — Collet, one per stone.
Length — fixed at 7 inches.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 13.60 g at 14K, 16.00 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.
