THE EDGE OF THIS BRACELET IS NOT STRAIGHT
An emerald cut is a rectangle with its corners cut off. Set forty-two of them in a line, side by side, and those bevelled corners meet — which means the outline of the bracelet is not two parallel edges. It is serrated: a shallow zigzag of tiny diagonal faces running the length of both sides.
Almost nobody notices it consciously. Everybody sees the effect of it, because those angled corners catch light from directions the flat sides cannot, and they put a fine bright line along the border of the piece that a row of round stones never produces.
THE SETTING
Forty-two emerald cuts at 4.70 × 3.30 mm, 12.35 carats in total, every one in an individual collet cut to its outline — four straight walls and four short diagonals, forty-two times.
A step cut has to be seated square. A round brilliant can rotate in its seat by a few degrees and nobody will ever know; an emerald cut cannot move at all without its long edges falling out of parallel with its neighbours. Across forty-two stones set along a line the eye follows, that alignment is the whole discipline of the piece.

Certification — every diamond of 0.20 ct and above ships with its certificate: GIA for natural, IGI for lab-grown. All forty-two qualify.
Setting — Collet, one per stone.
Length — fixed at 7 inches.
Metal — 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. 15.30 g at 14K, 18.00 g at 18K.
Diamond origin — natural or lab-grown, to preference.
